Paternity DNA Test Self Collection Kit (8800/Rs MRP)

DNA PATERNITY TEST:

DNA paternity testing determines whether a man could be the biological father of a child. We all inherit our DNA (the genetic material) from our biological parents. A DNA paternity test compares a child’s DNA pattern with that of the alleged father to check for evidence of this inheritance—the most definitive proof of a biological relationship.

The most important test you'll ever purchase deserves the most trusted laboratory in India.

Important: Work with one person at a time when performing Steps 1 and 2 of the self-collection process. Once you’ve completed Step 2 for the first tested party, begin at Step 1 for the next tested party. Move on to Step 3 once you have collected samples for all the tested parties.

The DLI DNA Self-Collection™ Kit is easy to use with just 3 simple steps:

  1. Label the paternity test sample collection envelopes.
  2. Collect cheek cells using the swabs provided, and place the used swabs in the paper envelopes.
  3. Mail all the samples back to the lab.

Step 1: Label the paternity test sample collection envelopes.

The DLI DNA Self-Collection™ Kit contains a sample collection envelope for every person to be tested. These envelopes will hold the individuals’ samples (i.e., the used swabs) when you send them back to us for testing.

Take out the envelope marked with the title of the first person to be collected (for example, “Alleged Father” or “Child”).

Fill out the envelope with the information about that tested party. Be sure to provide all the information requested on the sample collection envelope. The race information is necessary for statistical calculations.

Step 2: Collect cheek cells using the swabs provided, and place the used swabs in the paper envelopes.

The Beta Self-Collection™ Kit supplies a packet of 4 swabs for each person to be tested: 2 swabs should be used on the person’s left cheek, and 2 swabs should be used on the right cheek.

Follow these steps when swabbing each tested party:

  1. Open the swab packet at the end opposite from the swabs’ cottony tips.

  2. Remove one swab from the packet. Be careful not to touch the end with the cottony tip.

  3. Insert the swab into the person’s mouth, and rub it briskly against the inside of one cheek for 10 strokes. Rotate the swab while rubbing it back and forth and up and down. Do not rub the same spot over and over.

  4. Place the used swab into the paper sample collection envelope provided for that person. Do not place the swab back into the plastic packet. Doing so would encourage mold growth, which could destroy the DNA sample.

  5. Repeat the collection process with the remaining 3 swabs. (Remember to use 2 swabs on each cheek.)

  6. When all 4 swabs have been collected and placed in the sample collection envelope, seal the envelope.

Step 3: Mail all the samples back to the lab.

After all the tested parties have been collected, put their sample collection envelopes back in the DLI DNA Self-Collection™ Kit.

Next, complete and sign the Client Information Form. This form is where you indicate how you would like to pay for the test and receive your results.

Place the kit and the Client Information Form inside the postage-paid Business Reply envelope. Seal the envelope securely, and drop it in the mail.
