Sample Collection
Overnight fasting is preferred. Discontinue heparin for 1 day and oral anticoagulants for 7 days prior to sampling with prior consent from the treating physician. A duly filled Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15) is mandatory.

Blood samples are collected via venipuncture into specified tubes (SST for serum and Blue Top for plasma). Proper mixing by inversion is required to prevent clotting.
Report Delivery
Samples for PPP must be centrifuged and frozen immediately. Serum samples are shipped refrigerated or frozen as per instructions.

How to Prepare
- Collect 3 mL serum from 1 SST tube; ship refrigerated or frozen.
- Collect 4 mL blood into 3 Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tubes; mix by inversion.
- Prepare Platelet Poor Plasma (PPP) within 1 hour: centrifuge at 3600 rpm for 15 min, transfer supernatant, centrifuge again, and freeze immediately.
- Ship frozen samples without thawing. Overnight fasting is preferred. Submit Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15).
