Sample Collection
No specific fasting is required. If Gadolinium or Iodine-containing contrast media has been administered, specimen should not be collected for at least 96 hours. Avoid chromium dietary supplements for 48 hours prior to collection unless otherwise directed by your physician.
Method: Clean-catch midstream urine collection using powderless gloves
Laboratory Analysis
The patient should collect a clean-catch midstream urine specimen using the acid-washed (metal-free) container provided by the laboratory. Powderless gloves must be worn during specimen collection to avoid external contamination.
Report Delivery
Seal the container tightly. Store at room temperature for up to 6 hours, in a refrigerator (2–8°C) for up to 72 hours, or frozen for up to 1 week. Ship the specimen refrigerated or frozen to the laboratory as soon as possible.

How to Prepare
- Use only the acid-washed (metal-free) container provided by LPL/DNA Labs India
- Wear powderless gloves during specimen collection to prevent contamination
- Collect a midstream, clean-catch random urine specimen of at least 10 mL (5 mL minimum)
- Do not collect within 96 hours of receiving Gadolinium or Iodine contrast media
- Avoid contact between urine and any metal surfaces during collection
- Seal container tightly and label with patient name, date, and time of collection
- Ship refrigerated or frozen to the laboratory promptly
