Sample Collection
12 hours overnight fasting is recommended. Nature of specimen on Test Request Form is mandatory.
Method: Aseptic collection; venipuncture for plasma/serum; separate serum/plasma aseptically within 2 hours of collection

Collect sample aseptically. Separate serum/plasma aseptically within 2 hours of collection. For prenatal testing, collect amniotic fluid after 21 weeks of pregnancy in a sterile screw capped container.

How to Prepare
- Use sterile screw capped container for amniotic fluid, urine, saliva, CSF/BAL fluid.
- Use lavender top EDTA tube for plasma; red top no additive tube for serum.
- Mention nature of specimen on Test Request Form.
- Separate serum/plasma aseptically within 2 hours of collection.
