Understanding Your Results
Elevated CK-MB mass suggests myocardial muscle injury. Levels typically rise 4-6 hours after a heart attack, peak at 12-24 hours, and normalize within 48-72 hours. Serial measurements help assess the timeline and extent of damage.
Elevated Troponin I is highly indicative of acute myocardial infarction. It rises within 3-6 hours and may remain elevated for 7-10 days. It is the most specific marker for cardiac muscle damage.
An elevated high-sensitivity Troponin T value above the 99th percentile suggests myocardial injury. Its high sensitivity allows for early rule-out of myocardial infarction within 1-3 hours in emergency settings. Mild elevations may also be seen in heart failure, renal impairment, or other non-ACS conditions.
When all three biomarkers are within their respective reference ranges, the likelihood of acute myocardial infarction is low. However, if symptoms persist, serial testing within 3-6 hours is recommended to rule out early or evolving infarction.
Concurrent elevation of CK-MB, Troponin I, and Troponin T HS strongly supports the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction and may indicate extensive cardiac muscle damage requiring urgent intervention.

Limitations
