"GHRH testing is a specialized second-line investigation. In suspected acromegaly, IGF-1 and growth hormone suppression tests are usually first line, but ectopic GHRH-producing tumors are rare and should be considered when growth hormone excess is not explained by pituitary imaging. This test should be done after a complete endocrine evaluation and medication washout as advised."
