Sample Collection
Avoid meat products, pain killers, iron tablets, Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), and hard toothbrush for 3 days prior to specimen collection. Overnight fasting is preferred.

How to Prepare
- Avoid meat products, pain killers, iron tablets, Vitamin C, and hard toothbrush for 3 days before collection.
- Overnight fasting is preferred.
- Collect 2 mL serum from 1 SST tube, 3 mL whole blood in 1 Lavender Top (EDTA) tube, and 5 g stool in a leak-proof screw capped container.
- Ship refrigerated; do not freeze.
- Do not use a match box or absorbent material.

<50 µg/g: low likelihood of active inflammation; 50-120 µg/g: borderline; >120 µg/g: significant intestinal inflammation.
<6 mg/L: no significant systemic inflammation; elevated levels may indicate active IBD or other inflammatory states.
Positive result indicates gastrointestinal bleeding and requires further evaluation.
ASCA positive with ANCA negative may suggest Crohn's disease; ANCA positive with ASCA negative may suggest ulcerative colitis.
Consult a gastroenterologist if you have persistent abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody stools, unexplained weight loss, iron deficiency anemia, or abnormal IBD panel results.
