Test Parameters & Specifications
Sample Stability
- Clotted sample
- Underfilled sample
- Frozen or refrigerated sample
- Hemolyzed sample
Understanding Your Results
Consult your doctor if the report shows clonal B-cell population or if you have persistent fever, unexplained weight loss, enlarged lymph nodes, abnormal blood counts, or other concerning symptoms.
Limitations
- ⚠Flow cytometry results must be correlated with clinical history and morphology.
- ⚠A polyclonal pattern does not completely exclude a clonal process if the sample is paucicellular.
- ⚠Requires viable cells and adequate cell count.
Risks & Considerations
- ●Mild pain or bruising at the venipuncture site
- ●Transient discomfort with bone marrow collection
- ●Rare bleeding or infection at the collection site
Interfering Factors
- ●Hemolyzed, clotted, or insufficient sample
- ●Delayed or improper transport
- ●Recent chemotherapy or B-cell-directed therapy
- ●Refrigerated or frozen sample
