Positive with low load
Infection present, possibly early or resolving
Action: Treat and consider repeat testing after therapy
Negative
No Trichomonas vaginalis DNA detected
Action: If symptoms persist, consider other causes or repeat test
Consult a doctor if you experience symptoms such as unusual vaginal discharge, itching, pain during urination or sex, or if you have been exposed to a partner with trichomoniasis. Pregnant women with symptoms should seek immediate medical advice.
