"TSH receptor antibody positivity, when clinical features and thyroid function tests are consistent, strongly supports the diagnosis of Graves' disease. Serial TRAb measurements may be used to monitor disease course. For pregnant women with prior thyroid disease, TRAb testing in the last trimester helps assess neonatal thyroid risk."

Understanding Your Results
Negative
TSH receptor antibodies were not detected. Clinical correlation with thyroid function tests and symptoms is advised.
Positive
TSH receptor antibodies were detected. This is consistent with autoimmune thyroid disease, most commonly Graves' disease, and requires review by an endocrinologist.
Consult your doctor if you have symptoms of Graves' disease, including weight loss, rapid or irregular heartbeat, tremors, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, increased sweating, frequent bowel movements, menstrual changes, or swelling in the neck. Pregnant women with a history of thyroid disease should also discuss TRAb testing with their obstetrician or endocrinologist.
Limitations

- ⚠A negative TRAb result does not completely exclude Graves' disease
- ⚠A positive TRAb result should be interpreted in the context of clinical findings and other thyroid function tests
