Sample Collection
No fasting is required. Please provide a brief clinical history, including current medications, prior chemotherapy, and relevant symptoms.
Method: Venipuncture for whole blood; bone marrow aspiration by trained clinician
Laboratory Analysis
For whole blood, a phlebotomist collects samples using standard venipuncture. For bone marrow, a trained clinician collects the sample under aseptic conditions.
Report Delivery
Keep the sample at room temperature (18-22 degree Celsius). Do not refrigerate or freeze. Transport to the laboratory immediately.

Test Parameters & Specifications
Sample Stability
- Refrigerated or frozen sample
- Insufficient sample volume
- Improper anticoagulant
- Delayed or unlabelled sample
- Missing clinical details
Understanding Your Results
CD markers and MPO expression pattern consistent with myeloid lineage
May support a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia; correlate with morphology.
Absence of MPO and presence of lymphoid markers
May suggest lymphoid lineage; additional markers may be needed.
No abnormal population detected
May indicate no detectable abnormal clone but does not exclude disease if sample is inadequate.
If you have symptoms such as unexplained fever, weight loss, fatigue, easy bruising or bleeding, or enlarged lymph nodes, consult your healthcare provider.
Limitations
- ⚠Flow cytometry results must be correlated with morphology, cytogenetics, and molecular studies
- ⚠Does not replace histopathological examination
Risks & Considerations
- ●Mild pain or bruising at venipuncture site
- ●Rare infection or bleeding at bone marrow collection site
Interfering Factors
- ●Recent chemotherapy or growth factor therapy
- ●Hemodiluted or clotted sample
- ●Refrigerated or frozen sample
- ●Improper anticoagulant
- ●Delay in transport
