Sample Collection

Method: Venipuncture for blood; aseptic collection for CSF/sputum/fluids; tissue biopsy in sterile normal saline
Laboratory Analysis
Collect 4 mL whole blood in EDTA tube or 2 mL CSF/sputum/fluids in sterile container; tissue in normal saline. Avoid contamination.

Consult a physician or infectious disease specialist if symptoms persist or test is positive, especially fever, cough, breathlessness, non-healing wound, or if you are immunocompromised.
Limitations
- ⚠Negative result does not completely exclude fungal infection if sample is inadequate or fungal burden is low
