Apply gentle pressure to the puncture site with a cotton ball or bandage for 3–5 minutes. You may resume normal activities immediately. During the Test:A small blood sample (approximately 2 mL) will be drawn from a vein in your arm via venipuncture. The blood is collected into a Red Top (No Additive) tube. The entire procedure takes less than 5 minutes and is performed by a trained phlebotomist. You may feel a brief pinch during needle insertion.

After the Test:After the blood draw, pressure will be applied to the puncture site. You may resume normal activities immediately. Mild bruising at the puncture site is common and resolves on its own.
