Sample Collection
A duly filled Chromosome & FISH analysis Requisition Form (Form 17) is mandatory before sample collection. No fasting is required.
Method: Venipuncture and/or bone marrow aspiration
Laboratory Analysis
Whole blood is collected from a vein in a lavender top EDTA tube. Bone marrow sample, if required, is collected by a specialist into green top sodium heparin tubes.
Report Delivery
Keep samples at 18-22°C. Do not freeze. Send to the laboratory immediately.

How to Prepare
- Collect 4 mL whole blood in 1 lavender top EDTA tube.
- Collect 5 mL whole blood or 4 mL bone marrow in 2 green top sodium heparin tubes.
- Mix tubes gently by inversion; do not freeze.
- Ship at 18-22°C.
- Ensure Duly filled Chromosome & FISH analysis Requisition Form (Form 17) is sent with sample.
