Who Should Get This Test
The purpose of this test is to screen for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, syphilis, and HIV/AIDS, and to check immunization status for diseases like measles, mumps, rubella, and hepatitis B, as required for immigration and certain professions to ensure public health safety.
How to Prepare
- Collect 4 mL serum from 1 SST tube and ship refrigerated or frozen.
- Collect 1 mL whole blood each in a set of QuantiFERON TB Gold tubes, shake vigorously 10 times, do not centrifuge, ship at room temperature within 16 hours.
- Alternatively, collect 4 mL whole blood from 1 Green top (Sodium/Lithium heparin) tube, ship refrigerated, do not freeze.
