Method: Peripheral venous blood draw or bone marrow aspiration by trained personnel
Laboratory Analysis
For blood collection, a tourniquet is applied and a venipuncture is performed. For bone marrow, a trained clinician performs aspiration from the posterior iliac crest under aseptic conditions.

Apply pressure at the collection site. For bone marrow aspiration, keep the site clean and dry as instructed by the clinician.

How to Prepare
- Collect 3 mL whole blood in 1 Lavender Top EDTA tube and 1 Green Top Sodium Heparin tube
- Alternatively collect 2 mL bone marrow in 1 Green Top Sodium heparin tube along with aspirate smear
- Ship immediately at 18 to 22 degrees Celsius
- Do not refrigerate or freeze
- Clinical history is mandatory
