Test Parameters & Specifications
Sample Stability
- Refrigerated or frozen samples
- Clotted samples
- Insufficient sample volume
- Unlabeled or mismatched samples
- Samples delayed beyond stability limits
Understanding Your Results
Consult your oncologist or hematologist if you have unexplained fever, fatigue, weight loss, night sweats, swollen lymph nodes, easy bruising, or abnormal blood counts.
Limitations
- ⚠Does not replace morphological, cytogenetic, and molecular evaluation
- ⚠TdT may be expressed in normal hematogones in bone marrow, requiring careful gating
- ⚠A negative result does not rule out all hematological malignancies
Risks & Considerations
- ●Mild pain or bruising at venipuncture site
- ●Rare bleeding or infection at bone marrow aspiration site
Interfering Factors
- ●Refrigerated or frozen samples may reduce cell viability and marker expression
- ●Delayed transport beyond room temperature stability limits
- ●Clotted or hemolyzed samples
- ●Recent chemotherapy may reduce blast counts
- ●Poor sample viability can affect gating and interpretation
