Overview

The Pneumoslide IgM IFA panel identifies IgM antibodies against nine respiratory pathogens that commonly cause atypical pneumonia: Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Coxiella burnetii, Chlamydophila pneumoniae, Adenovirus, Respiratory Syncytial Virus, Influenza A, Influenza B and Parainfluenza virus types 1, 2 and 3. The result helps the clinician determine whether a patient's respiratory symptoms are related to a recent or current infection by one of these organisms and guides appropriate management.
