Sample Collection
Overnight fasting is preferred. Duly filled Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15) is mandatory. Discontinue Heparin for 1 day and Oral Anticoagulants for 7 days prior, with consent from treating physician.

Laboratory Analysis
Blood is drawn via venipuncture into a Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube. Mix thoroughly by inversion.
Report Delivery
Transport sample to lab within 4 hours. If delayed, prepare platelet-poor plasma (PPP) by centrifugation and freeze immediately.

How to Prepare
- Collect 3 mL whole blood in a Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube.
- Mix thoroughly by inversion to prevent clotting.
- Transport to lab within 4 hours.
- If transport delayed, prepare PPP within 1 hour: centrifuge at 3600 rpm for 15 min, transfer supernatant to a clean tube, centrifuge again, and freeze the final supernatant.
- Ship frozen sample and do not thaw.
