Understanding Your Results

Results indicate Factor X activity levels. Low levels suggest deficiency, while normal levels may rule out significant defects. Consult a healthcare provider for interpretation.
📊

Low Factor X Activity (<50%)

May indicate Factor X deficiency, liver disease, vitamin K deficiency, or anticoagulant effect.

📊

Normal Factor X Activity (50-150%)

Normal clotting function. Further tests may be needed if symptoms persist.

📊

High Factor X Activity (>150%)

May occur in hypercoagulable states. Clinical correlation recommended.

⚠️ When to Consult a Doctor:

If you experience unexplained bleeding, bruising, or other symptoms of coagulation disorders. Also, consult for abnormal test results or before starting/stopping anticoagulants.

Limitations

  • May not detect all types of Factor X deficiencies
  • Requires proper sample collection and handling
  • Results should be interpreted in clinical context

Risks & Considerations

  • Minor bruising at puncture site
  • Rare infection
  • Fainting during blood draw

Interfering Factors

  • Use of anticoagulants like heparin (discontinue 1 day prior)
  • Oral anticoagulants (discontinue 7 days prior)
  • Recent blood transfusions
  • Sample handling errors
